The Daprtment of Geology in association with geological forum have organized the International Geologists' Day: 2024 at the conference Hall -I on 6th April, 2024. The event was presided over by HoD, Geology Department, J. B. College Dr. Nurul Amin. Dr. Chaitra Dhar Taye explained the importance of the day along with significance of the commemorating the day. The departmental newsletter 'Geosavvy' was inaugrated by Dr. Nurul Amin. The News letter is a colleborated effort by Dr. Chaitra Dhar Taye and Dr. Raktim Ranjan Saikia and the members of geological forum. The event also included a 3-round Quiz Programme conducted by Dr. Saikia.
Team Mica (Mr. Priyam Sandilya & Mr. Sanchit Shyam) won the 1st position and Team Pyroxene (Mr. Abhiraj Dutta & Mr. Prandeep Kamal Borah) got the 2nd position. They recieved monitory prizes donated by Dr. Nurul Amin and awarded by Dr. Raktim Ranjan Saikia.
Mr. Sorat Konwar concluded the programme with vote of thanks.
