Vice-Chancellor
Dr. Jyoti Prasad Saikia joined as the first Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath Barooah University on 28th July 2025. He is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at Dibrugarh University. Dr. Saikia previously served as the founding Vice-Chancellor of Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya, Assam. A prolific bilingual writer from Sivasagar, Assam, Dr. Saikia has made significant contributions to Assamese literature and academia.
