Students from the Department of Economics, Jagannath Barooah University (J.B. College formerly) actively participated in a field engagement and internship survey as part of the partial fulfillment of their academic course requirements in July 2025. The survey was conducted in Kumar Gaon, Rongdoi Koiborta Gaon Road, Assam, where the students interacted with local residents to collect primary data on various socio-economic aspects of tobacco consumption. This hands-on activity aimed to provide students with practical exposure to field research methods, including household surveys, data collection, and community interaction. Under the guidance of faculty members, the students engaged with respondents to gain insights into rural livelihood patterns, consumption behavior, and development indicators.
