- Book Donation Ceremony
19th November, 2023: A Book Donation Ceremony was organized at the Conference Hall I of Jagannath Barooah College (Autonomous). Mr. Mohan Lal Meena, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Jorhat in presence of Principal Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, faculty members, non-teaching staff and students donated 25 number of books to the Krishna Kanta Handiqui Central Library for UPSC/APSC aspirants. Mr. Mohan Lal Meena also enlightened about the importance of the books to prepare for the prestigious examinations. Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, thanked the Assam Police for this initiative which will bring awareness among students. Ms. Aanchal Chauhan, IPS (Probationer) expressed her views about the procedure of the examinations and gave her valuable guidance to the students. The meeting was presided from the very beginning by the librarian of the college Mr. Digbijoy Das and he thanked everyone for their gracious presence and making the event a fruitful one.
*Jorhat District Inter Institution Quiz Competition
11th August, 2023: A Jorhat District Inter Institution Quiz Competition was organized by Krishna Kanta Handiqui Central Library, J.B.College (Autonomous) in association with Jorhat Librarians Association. The quiz was conducted by Jorhat Quiz Forum. The Quizmaster of the competition was Mr. Bikram Bora, Assistant Professor, Bahona College, & Vice President, Jorhat Quiz Forum. Mr. Digbijoy Das, librarian of the college formally welcomed all the guests and participants and thanked the attendees for coming. The results of the quiz competition: 1st Position: Shariq Nishat & Shakeel Ahmed Afridi (Jorhat Medical College). 2nd Position: Dayyan Mirsab Saikia & Anirban Borgohain (Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School) 3rd Position: Nitish Sarma & Hemanga Goswami (Jorhat Engineering College)
*National Librarians Day Celebration, 2023
12th August, 2023: A day long program was scheduled in the Conference Hall I of Jagannath Barooah College (Autonomous) to celebrate the 131st birth anniversary of the Father of Library Science, Padma Shri Dr. Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan organized by Jorhat Librarian Association and Krishna Kanta Handiqui Central Library, Jagannath Barooah College (Autonomous) in collaboration with Assam College Librarian Association, (Jorhat Division). Dr. Smriti Rekha Barooah, President, JLA hoisted the flag of the association and heartfelt tribute was offered to the persons accomplishments. Mr. Digbijoy Das, Librarian, Jagannath Barooah College (Autonomous) formally welcomed the guests to the meeting. The meeting was graced by Dr. Smriti Rekha Baruah, President, Jorhat Librarian Association, Guest of Honour Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, Principal, J.B.College (Autonomous), Invited Speaker Mr. Anjan Kumar Borah, Professor, Dept of Philosophy, DCB Girls College, Jorhat and Mr. Apurba Kumar Baruah, Retd. Librarian, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. Keeping in view of the National Librarians Day Celebration a Jorhat District Inter Institution Quiz Competition was organized by Krishna Kanta Handiqui Central Library, J.B.College (Autonomous) in association with Jorhat Librarians Association. The quiz was conducted by Jorhat Quiz Forum. The Quizmaster of the competition was Mr. Bikram Bora, Assistant Professor, Bahona College, & Vice President, Jorhat Quiz Forum. The first position was bagged by Shariq Nishat & Shakeel Ahmed Afridi of Jorhat Medical College, second position by Dayyan Mirsab Saikia & Anirban Borgohain of Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School and third position by Nitish Sarma & Hemanga Goswami of Jorhat Engineering College. The vote of thanks was offered by Mrs. Runjun Borthakur, Retd. Librarian, CKB Commerce College, Jorhat. The meeting ended with the Jatiya Sangeet.
- Users Awareness Programme on National Digital Library of India and NDLI CLUB organized in association with NDLI Club J.B. College (Autonomous)
22nd June 2023: An online User Awareness Programme on the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) and NDLI Club was organized by the Krishna Kanta Handiqui Central Library, Jagannath Barooah College (Autonomous). The event was graced by Ms. Phulasmita Nath, Project Officer, NDLI-NERC, IIT Guwahati as resource person. She highlighted the various aspects and use of NDLI and the NDLI Club. As registered members of the NDLI Club, users from J. B. College -NDLI Club can access the national and global database of NDLI. The meeting was presided by the NDLI club president and college librarian Mr. Digbijoy Das where more than 100 registered participants were actively engaged. Before the end of the program, Mr. Das expressed his vote of thanks for their gracious presence and for making the event a successful one.

Library Orientation Programme was conducted by Krishna Kanta Handique Central Library to the Under Graduate and Post Graduate students of various departments, J.B.College (Autonomous) to make users aware of various resources and facilities available in the library.
