Jagannath Barooah University takes immense pride in announcing that Hemanta Gurung, a 6th Semester student of the Department of Physics, has been selected for the prestigious Overseas Fellowship Programme under “The Chief Minister’s Green Fellowship Programme 2025–26” in recognition of his outstanding academic merit.

As part of this distinguished fellowship, Hemanta Gurung will participate in an Internship Programme on “Sustainability Practices” at The University of Warsaw, Poland. The programme is scheduled to commence in March and will continue for a duration of five weeks.

The fellowship aims to equip young scholars with global exposure and practical insights into sustainable environmental practices. During the internship, Gurung will engage in academic and field-based learning related to sustainability initiatives and environmental management strategies. The programme envisions that upon completion, he will actively contribute to sustainable environment-related activities and green initiatives in the state of Assam.
