On 2nd September, 2024, the Department of Commerce organized an enriching entrepreneurship field trip to Gattani Industries, Jorhat, for the UG 1st semester and PG 3rd semester students. Gattani Industries, a leading manufacturer of plywood, provided the students with a valuable opportunity to observe the complete production process, from raw material processing to the final conversion into high-quality plywood sheets. 

During the visit, the students gained practical insights into the operations of a manufacturing unit, including the techniques used for cutting, pressing, gluing, and finishing the plywood. This hands-on experience not only highlighted the entrepreneurial aspects of managing such an enterprise but also offered a deeper understanding of supply chain dynamics and business management in the manufacturing sector.

The field trip was an integral part of the department's effort to blend theoretical knowledge with real-world industrial exposure, fostering entrepreneurial thinking and practical learning among students.
