Botany Department of Jagannath Barooah College was established in the year 1953 as the Department of Biology by introducing B.Sc programme.
The department is pioneering in developing human resource in NE India and looking forward to shape it as a Centre of Excellence in Botanical Science and usher the Plant Science education and research in this region.
