The Department of Biotechnology is working with the motto that students will be more attracted towards science if they understand practical implementation of the theoretical knowledge and get appreciation of their work by academicians and Scientists of the sector
Since its inception, with the facilities provided by the DBT, GoI, under the scheme of Institutional Biotech Hub, Department of Biotechnology is providing research based learning environment to the students of the Biological Science. The Biotechnology Department of J.B. College has initiated an innovative approach of engaging B.Sc students in small research based learning projects from the second semester of their course and to get practical exposure to their theory syllabus. This facility is allowing them to get involved in the department during their leisure time. With their findings, they are trained to do statistical analysis and present oral or poster presentations in various National and International Seminars.
More and more students are now being interested in studying biological science and those who are into the subject are showing their interest to carry out their students research activities under the expertise and facilities provided under the DBT Biotech Hub. Moreover, research activities of the teachers has also increased after the inception of the approach.
The research activities of the UG students trained under the hub are getting importance at national and International Platforms.
