One-day Workshop on Plasma Physics and its Applications

The Department of Physics at Jagannath Barooah College, in collaboration with the Centre of Plasma Physics – Institute for Plasma Research (CPP-IPR), Sonapur, Assam, organized a one-day Workshop on Plasma Physics and its Applications on September 3, 2024. The workshop aimed to equip undergraduate and postgraduate students with a comprehensive understanding of plasma physics and its various applications. The event also featured practical demonstrations of different plasma discharges, providing hands-on experience for the participants. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, Principal of Jagannath Barooah College, with the welcome address delivered by Dr. Jibon Saikia, Head of the Department of Physics. Key resource persons for the workshop included Dr. Bipul Jyoti Saikia, Scientific Officer F, Dr. Rakesh Moulick, Scientific Officer D, and Dr. Ngangom Aomoa, Scientific Officer D, all from CPP-IPR. The event saw participation from over 110 students and faculty members and was coordinated by Dr. Ankur Gogoi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the college.
