COMPUTER:
There are altogether 2 computer terminals with LAN and internet facility. These are used for the preparation of departmental presentation and conduction of bioinformatics classes. The students also use the internet facility for various research related activies and also carry out the practicals related to bioinformatics, Evolutionary biology, Genetics, Biostatistics and Natural Resource management. Some of the softwares used in the department are –
- S. Office
- ALLELLE A1
- MEGA 5
- CLUSTAL W
- Ecological Footprint Analyser.
- Pedigree Analysis Worksheet (NGSS)
LIBRARY
The department maintains a small Library which is mainly meant for the teachers and students. The books are issued to students casually. Having a big central Library with more than 58,000 books, and in Botany 1170 approximately the departmental Library gets little importance to students. However, it contains more than 350 books of various authors with some periodicals of Botanical importance.
RESOURCES

The department has a small herbarium of different Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms. It has preserved a good number of plant specimens collected by students from different parts of Assam, its neighboring states and other states of India. The total number of herbarium sheets is approximately 3000
BOTANICAL MUSEUM:
A biological museum under the department of Botany is maintained since 1967. Several valuable plant specimens are kept in preservations for the benefit of students. There are more than 300 plant specimens and different models of biological importance.
BOTANICAL GARDEN:
The botanical garden of the department harbours a large number of exotic and endemic species of plants. Presently altogether 49 species of medicinal plants , 12 species of fruit yielding plants, 10 number of species of ornamental plants are found. Apart from these, 2 species of bryophytes, 2 species of pteridophytes, 3 numbers of gymnosperms, 68 species of angiospermic plants are found in the garden
