The fifth edition of Cocoon, the biennial bulletin of the Department of Zoology, Jagannath Barooah University, was released on August 28, 2025, at 12:10 PM by Dr. Surajit Sharma, Academic Registrar of the University. Compered by Mr. Nilave Bhuyan, the event was attended by students and faculty members of the department.

Edited by Topan Goswami under the guidance of Mr. Nilave Bhuyan and Dr. Luk Bahadur Chetry, the bulletin showcases students' creative writing and achievements in curricular and co-curricular activities.

In his address, the editor reflected on the year-long effort behind the publication and expressed hope for continued efforts to bring out future editions.

Dr. Sharma praised the title Cocoon, noting that it symbolically conveys "a space of future hope." He highlighted how Biological Sciences, including Zoology have enriched the English language with terms like seminar and nursery, underscoring the deep interconnection between disciplines. Emphasizing the dissolution of traditional boundaries between Arts, Science, and other domains, he congratulated the department for creating a platform that fosters creativity and expression among students.
