Botany department and Green Plus Society, J.B. College (Autonomous) celebrated National Science Day on 28^th February, 2019 at J.B. College campus. This year the theme for the National Science Day is: Science for the People and the People for Science. A popular talk was organized with an objective to inculcate scientific thinking and promote better understanding of concepts of pure science among students along with to ingrain awareness about the environment, biodiversity, climate change and its impact and sustainable development. Dr. Dandeswar Dutta, Scientist, RFRI, Jorhat was invited as a Chief Guest to deliver a popular talk in the event. About 200 students and faculty from various department of the college were participated in the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Bimal Barah, Principal, J.B. College (Autonomous). This was followed by welcome address by Dr Anita M Buragohain, HoD Botany, Dr. Runjun Gogoi Rajkumari, had introduced the Chief Guest, and highlighted on his research career.
