Excellence in teaching and research in Geography at higher level of education is the basic thrust of this Department. Understanding thoroughly the Geography of the North-eastern part of India in general and the Upper Brahmaputra Valley in particular and participating as well as rendering services at various levels of decision making and their implementation are the missions of the Department of Geography, J.
